We look forward to partnering with you!
Katie Reilly Wardlow, Principal
Katie Reilly Wardlow comes to us after seven years with the prestigious Cristo Rey New York High School in East Harlem, NY, where she spent four years as the Algebra and Calculus teacher followed by three years as the Dean of Faculty.
Katie has a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Sociology from the College of the Holy Cross in Massachusetts and a Master’s of Education in Private School Leadership from Columbia University. Katie is also an alumna of Teach for America where she taught middle school math in the Washington D.C. public school system.
Katie is excited to build on the successes of our previous school leaders in driving the academic growth of the school. “It is an honor to work alongside the talented and dedicated teaching staff here at DePaul.” she says. With considerable experience in professional development and teacher coaching, her overarching goal is “to continue to build a positive school culture centered on academic excellence.”
Colleen McKenzie, Assistant Principal
Colleen McKenzie will serve as DePaul’s Assistant Principal focusing on DePaul’s curriculum and coaching teachers. A veteran teacher at DePaul, Colleen began teaching 2nd and 3rd grade at DePaul in 2010. Last year, Colleen was the Site Manager for DePaul’s Blended Learning Program with Seton Education Partners. She successfully implemented blended learning and supported 100% of scholars to meet RIT goals in math, doubling the national average. Colleen completed KIPP’s Emerging Leadership Program and is a resident of Philly Plus, a dynamic principal preparation program, aimed at training and equipping high-performing educators to become transformative school leaders. Colleen is excited for the upcoming school year to continue to collaborate with so many amazing scholars and teachers.
Nadeen Herring, Dean of Student Life
Nadeen Herring will blaze the way as DePaul’s Dean of Student Life, a position that will focus on building school culture, engaging families, enriching programs that support academic goals of the school, and develop and implement a system of accountability and positive behavior reinforcement.
Nadeen is a native of Harrisburg, P.a., but she refined her professional skills in Georgia and New York after completing her studies at Spelman College and Columbia University, respectively. Nadeen’s commitment to urban education and her focus on community collaboration led to a number of unique roles in leadership.
In 2010, Nadeen co-founded the first all-girl, public charter school in the State of New York.
Nadeen is ecstatic to return to the Keystone State and share her passion with fellow “movers-and-changers” in academics.
