DePaul Trailblazers are scholars who demonstrate DePaul’s 5 values and have shown great growth, especially in an academy area of focus.
Each month, teachers write a recommendation highlighting why the student has been chosen and one student per grade is selected.
We are proud to announce DePaul’s October Trailblazers!
1st Grade Grade: Kylie Knox
Kylie shows all five values in and outside of the classroom. She is always the first person to step up and help others. She shows kindness to everyone that she meets. She never gives up and always challenges herself to do more. Finally, she is an amazing leader for first grade. I know she will succeed so much this year.
2nd Grade: Charli Smith
Charli is a hard worker and she’s always willing to help her classmates. Charli show’s perseverance because she never gives up. Charli loves to learn. Charli is an i-Ready focus champion. She earned 105 points. Keep up the great work our class is proud of you.
3rd Grade: Keiliana Brown
Keiliana is a friendly, helpful person to everyone. Everyday, she shows faith, honor, perseverance, initiative and community. She works hard, takes risks and is actively involved in her learning. This third grader is a trailblazer because she always works hard to be the best version of herself and expects her classmates to be to. Keep blazing your trail!
4th Grade: Janiya Neal
Janiya works hard every day to show all five values. She is always following directions with respect and honor. Every day, she works to grow her brain and be the best she can be. She is an incredible role model for her classmates, setting a perfect example of a responsible, focused DePaul scholar.
5th Grade: Karissa Walton
Since the beginning of the year, Karissa Walton has been a positive presence in the class. From completing all work to taking the lead during morning prayer, as well as making announcements about our school food drive. By doing this, she is a great role model for younger students and we look forward to a great year!
6th Grade: Nevaeh Adkins
Naveah demonstrates our values, is kind to everyone, and constantly strives to make our school a more beautiful space. She especially shows the values of initiative and perseverance in her academics, always submitting high quality homework. We are very proud of her!
7th Grade: Chisom Ogbodo
Chisom is a true scholar and leads his classmates by his example. His dedication to his work, compassion and respect towards all those in the DePaul community, and strong faith are just a few of the things that make this young man stand out. He works hard to live up to his potential every day, and his hard work is paying off.
8th Grade: Raymond Williams
Raymond is a well-balanced young man. He is an ambassador for the school where he welcomes people with hospitality and goodwill. Raymond is in charge of our breakfast program in the eighth grade. He makes sure that we are all taken care of and that the reports are correct and up to date. Raymond is a young gentleman who has the admiration and respect of his classmates because he listens and cares about his fellow classmates. Raymond is also a dedicated student. He completes his homework assignments and wants to learn all that he can. Raymond is someone who will not keep his education to himself either. He learns to share. Raymond is also a good brother. He has a brother and sister that attend our school. He looks after them like an eagle protects his young. In closing, Raymond is the winner of the Trailblazer Award for the eighth grade because he is a leader, a scholar, and a good man. He also plans to help our basketball team win the championship this year.
